Daddy and his canoe

Well, it finally happened after YEARS and YEARS of talking about buying a canoe - Felix's dream finally came true!!!  We have had it for 5 weeks and have taken it out at least  5 times.  The first time I took my camera but was paranoid the whole time so I haven't taken it since.  Felix and Scarlett LOVE being out on the water, I am getting used to it and definitely not as nervous for Scarlett to fall over.  We Usually pack a lunch and find a spot to get out on the side and eat.... It actually has been a lot of fun!

Scarlett - 15 and 16 Months

Sorry I have been MIA lately - with not feeling the greatest the last few weeks and than we had our sweet friends and their three boy visit us for a week things have been crazy! But be prepared to be bombarded with posts over the next week or so :).  I'll start off with Scarlett's Updates

Age:  15 and 16 Months

Stats: According to our scale 22lbs

Clothes:  12-18 months or 18 months.  For the fall and winter clothing I have been getting her 18 months - Old Navy and Baby Gap once again win for the cutest stuff!

Favorite Foods: Apples - not sure if its because she actually LOVES apples or she LOVES to say Apple. this girl will seriously eat everything - including seaweed salad!

Things she says: Too many to count now 45+ - She has started to put 2 words together to form sentences and she will say please if she wants something and Thank you when you hand her something or when she hands you something.  

Activities: She Mastered body parts a lot faster than I thought and moved quickly to animals and the sounds they make; I would say she knows about 12 consistently. I also have started pointing out different shapes to her, so far we have circle and square down.  Next I'll probably start pointing out colors - I see colored themed lunches in the near future ;).

Favorite Things:  By far her books, she will ask me to read her books all day long! I am about to order her some fall/halloween books for her - I figured since I am about to decorate for fall I should get her in the mood too!

My Favorite thing she does: When she runs up to me and says "Up Pease" or maybe when she stands at the refrigerator and says "cheese pease"

Daddy's Favorite thing she does:  When she unties his shoes when he gets home from work so he can take them off.

Scarlett lately has been very aware of drinks that Felix and I have....  She will follow you around saying "drink, drink".  So one morning I was drinking out of a coffee mug (it was actually just hot lemon water) and out of no where Scarlett yells "boffee, drink", So I made her a "boffee" (water).  She was on cloud nine and so proud of herself!!!

Letters to Baby C #2

Hey Sweet Baby, this is your first picture!! Get used to having a camera in your face because this mama takes a LOT of pictures!  I am just 8 weeks here and you are already looking like a baby- a very small baby I think my book says the size of a kidney bean.  It's amazing how something the size of a kidney bean or I guess technically now you are the size of a kumquat, can make a person so sick but you sure have.  I am hoping that once I hit 13 weeks I'll have energy and an appetite again, but for now I will drink Orange juice and eat a million peaches.  Although your daddy and sister did eat the last peach we had last night......  You and I will hold that against them for a long time ;).

Baby C #2

On June 30th Felix came home from work with this sitting on the counter!!!!!  We had decided to start trying for baby #2 after Scarlett turned one, Felix was excited to actually "try" to get pregnant since Scarlett was such a surprise ;).

We are over the moon excited for this baby and cannot wait for his or her arrival.  I have had two Dr. appointments already; the first was with a nurse to just get medical history and blood work done and the second was an ultrasound and actual appointment with the Dr. both were great!  We have a healthy baby!

Scarlett - 13 and 14 Months

Here are Scarlett's 13 and 14 month updates :)




Age:  13 and 14 Months

Stats: According to our scale 21lbs of perfection, I'm not sure height but she definitely has grown since her Dr appt a few months ago

Clothes: 12 months or 12-18 months.

Favorite Foods: Watermelon and she is a big fan of grilled cheese and tomato soup.  We are still nursing twice a day (morning and night) and I don't think I will wean her until 18 months.

Things she says: She has added so many new words these past few months - Ball, Bird, Pig, Up, ilk (milk), shoe, ook (book), and trink. She also understands simple directions -  Go find your shoes, put it back where you found it, help me pick up your toys.  I am blown away with how fast she picks up things!!

Activities: She is learning body parts right now so she constantly is pointing out the parts we have learned - eyes, ears, nose, toes and belly button.  

Favorite Things:  She is still really into books

My Favorite thing she does: she runs to the door when Felix gets home, sweetest thing ever!

Daddy's Favorite thing she does:  When she climbs onto the couch to sit with him.

Fourth of July Weekend

This was our first Fourth of July that Felix and I actually got to spend together!!! and it was a BLAST!!  My Brother came to see us, and we hung out all day on Friday!  Scarlett was out for the count by the time fireworks started (around 10:00), but I just know next year she will love them!  Saturday was a pretty lazy at home day, and so was sunday.  Felix took an extra day off so on Monday we went to Oxbow Park and hung out by the water and ate lunch.  The water was freezing; I do not know how Scarlett can even get in but she does and SHE LOVES IT!!   A Holiday wouldn't be complete in the Carroll house without a festive meal or two.
