Holiday Weekend

This was the first Thanksgiving that I had to cook the WHOLE thing (well almost the whole thing Felix was in charge of the Turkey).  Wednesday, Scarlett and I made daddy his requested cheesecake and mamma's favorite Ribbon Jello - it's a toss up of which one Scarlett liked better.  Thanksgiving was very relaxing, we woke up late Felix made Eggs and Potatoes, than we just hung out for a few hours!  Around 1:30ish we started getting dinner ready.  Felix decided to Fry the turkey (AMAZING by the way) and Scarlett and I made all the side dishes, Mashed Potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, broccoli and cheese, and rolls.  Just the Thanksgiving basics but it was Yummy yummy as S says.

Felix had a four day weekend (I wish he had one every week!) So we did a few things around the house - this MAMMA is NESTING!   We also picked out our Christmas tree, I never thought that I would like having a real tree but I actually LOVE it! It was freezing the day we went, which I guess is fitting since we were picking out a Christmas tree.  We went to this Tree Farm just down the street from us, where you cut down your own tree, which was a lot more fun than just going to one of those tree lots.  Here are a few pictures of S wondering around a tree farm.

Scarlett - 17 and 18 Months

Age:  17 and 18 Months

Stats: According to our scale 24lbs

Clothes: 18 months or 18-24 months.  shoe size 5

Favorite Foods: She loves Bananas! She still will pretty much eat anything though.

Things she says: Too many to count, she adds a new word/sentence everyday now.

Activities: She loves trying to dress herself - which is hilarious!!! watching her try to put her shirt on as pants or vice versa... She is going to be that kid you see at the store that you just know dressed themselves that day!

Favorite Things:  By far her books, she will ask me to read her books all day long!  She also is loving this shape sorter and when she gets the shape in the right spot she tells herself "ood job" and claps.

My Favorite thing she does: My favorite thing has been sitting at the kitchen table and drinking hot chocolate or apple cider with her in the mornings and just talking to her.  Also she looks so proud to be drinking out of a coffee mug!!

Daddy's Favorite thing she does:   When she asks for Grapes which sounds like she is saying "peeps"

I also took 18 month pictures today (she technically turns 18 months tomorrow but it was SUNNY today so I took advantage of the natural light).

Friday Favs

We woke up this morning with a ton of Fog,  I've absolutely been in LOVE with fog lately (although I hate that Felix has to drive in it).  But seriously some cozy pajamas, warm slippers and hand me my favorite cup of hot tea (which for the past month has been Tazo Peach Cobbler), add a TON of fog outside and I just know it's going to be a great day.  If you add a camera in my hand and my sweet girl the day is even better ;).

Also, another one of my favs are Camo skinny jeans and if I wasn't pregnant I would totally buy a pair so S and I could match.  Is it weird that I am already thinking about cute coordinating outfits for my girls!?!?!  Scarlett's favorite thing this week has to be the Fisher Price Shape Sorter , she carries this thing everywhere and really wanted to take a nap with it yesterday.

Here are some more pictures ;)

Wednesday Happenings

We had a break in the recent rain fall today so we headed outside to run around!! Scarlett loves being outside and exploring, she found a slug (SICK) and saw a frog.  She also handed me every single leaf she could find ha ha.

Rainy Fall Mornings

It finally has started raining here (whoever thinks it rains constantly in Oregon is TOTALLY WRONG)!!! I think I have decided that the locals spread that rumor around so no one will move here.  Anyway Fall is in the air, the trees are the prettiest red and orange I have ever seen, the weather is finally calling for boots and sweaters and to cozy up on the couch with a hot cup of tea (or Hot Cocoa).

This morning Scarlett slept in longer than she normally does - geeze I wish she would tell me the night before "you know mom I'm going to sleep in until 8:30"; that way I know and can get some things done before she even gets up.  So when she finally did wake up I surprised her with a cup of Hot Cocoa and "arsh-me-woes"! She does great with a regular cup - even though I am not moving her away from the munchkin sippy cups that I love - it's nice to know that she can handle a Big girl cup if she needs to, and I'm pretty sure she loves that she has a cup just like Mama's. :)

Cookies and More Cookies

Our weekend was pretty uneventful, We just hung around the house mostly.  The only fun thing we did was decorate halloween sugar cookies.  Scarlett had fun and we of course had fun watching her, she took a bite out of every cookie she decorated and ate frosting by the spoonful!!!!
