Swim Lessons - Day 1

Scarlett had her first Swim Lesson and loved it! The first day is just all about getting them used to the water but going forward they will learn how to kick and stuff.  I love watching Felix with her- it melts my heart.

Pajamas, Picnic, and Disney Movie

I had every intention to clean house yesterday but the rainy weather quickly changed my mind, So Scarlett and I first snuggled up on the couch to watch the movie Frozen for the first time.  Than it turned into a picnic in the middle of the living room floor.  She loved the movie, all the singing had her mesmerized - I love all things Disney so I cannot wait to show her how awesome Disney is and of course take her to Disney!! I thought the movie was super cute and can see why there was such hype after it came out... and seriously how cute is Olaf?!?!?!

Seattle!

Felix Surprised me with a weekend trip to Seattle for my birthday and man was it SOOO much fun.  We took the train from Portland to Seattle (what a cool way to travel) and spent 2 nights 3 days in Seattle.  The First day we were there we ate at this restaurant called Elliotts where we ate oysters, not my favorite but they were good.  Scarlett and I shared halibut and brussel sprouts (i'm pretty sure she ate more than her half though :).) and after we went to this homemade ice cream shop and had an ice cream cone.  We couldn't have planned it any better but we made it on the ferris wheel right at sunset! BEAUTIFUL!!

On Sunday we went to Pikes Place Market, which was super amazing and so fun! We spent the whole morning there!!! We ate A LOT ha ha but everything was so good! we had Mac and Cheese that was to DIE FOR,  homemade Greek yogurt (which has inspired me to make it myself and see if I can get it to taste as good)   After that we walked back down to the bay and went on a boat tour, also very fun and informative! the tour guide told us that in a 5 mile radius (half of which would be in the water) there are 130 Starbucks, just Starbucks this doesn't include the other coffee shops in the area.  CRAZY but Seattle certainly loves coffee.  After the tour we walked back up to Pikes Place Market and ate clam chowder (the best Clam Chowder I have ever had).  After a late lunch early dinner we just walked around and hung out. What a cool city Seattle is.

How awesome to buy your seafood basically right out of the water

Our last day in Seattle we ended back up at Pike's place market and had some more of that greek yogurt (i'm obsessed) Also a trip to Seattle wouldn't be complete without going to the original Starbucks, and we came home with a cool coffee mug. We spent a majority of the morning on this cool dock.  Than we headed back to the train station to head home.

I fell in love with this city in just the short weekend we were there and I'm so excited that we live so close so we can go again! Over all I had the best BIRTHDAY TRIP EVER!

she makes me laugh all day

Newport Beach

I definitely love the beach, the sound of the waves crashing, sand between your toes, the smell of sunscreen (I love the smell of sunscreen, I actually would love this scent in a candle so my whole house could smell of sunscreen) the hot sun and a cool breeze (make for the perfect combination). So when Felix said it's supposed to be nice this weekend let's go to the beach I was ALL over it!!! So there wasn't the smell of sunscreen and definitely not the hot sun beating down on you but I think our one day beach trip is on the top ten beach trips I have gone on. Scarlett was on cloud nine, she is a water girl that is for sure, I can't wait for this summer so we can actually get In the water ( although people were playing in the water when we were there!) Scarlett might have been on overload with all the new things to look at, touch and explore- I love watching her learn things. We went to Newport Beach, what a cool little beach! Seals or sea lions I never can tell the difference I'm sure it's totally obvious - I should google it before Scarlett can start asking me questions about things; anyway they are everywhere it's so neat. We of course had crab, one of my favorite things to eat and went to this cool little museum. The drive was a little long for a one day trip but it will be awesome for some weekend getaway trips this summer.
