Our Easter

Scarlett's First Easter Basket

Easter was very low key this year, since it's just the three of us.  We woke up and got ready for Church, I think we finally have Sunday mornings down - I nurse Scarlett while Felix gets ready and than he takes her downstairs to eat a light breakfast and I get ready (and he always brings me a breakfast smoothie- it's the little things in life).  This Sunday was a little different however, in between Felix getting ready and me getting ready we let Scarlett go through her Easter basket.

After Church we came back home and of course Scarlett was zonked out in her car seat so while she napped the hubster and I cooked brunch - mainly he cooked I was in charge of Cinnamon rolls and pancakes.  After the Little one woke up we ate Brunch and hung out in our backyard.

Felix's Disk- he cooked our whole brunch on this thing. Eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and grilled mushrooms

I got a couple Family pictures and Felix got a few of Scarlett and I

That was pretty much our day - O we had hamburgers and french fries for dinner that Felix made on his disk grill.

Here is a picture of all of Scarlett's Easter Gifts - Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Carroll and Gram and Gramps for sending her all these awesome new toys.

Letters to Sweet Scarlett

"We Keep moving forward, opening new doors and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." - Walt Disney

Hey sweet girl you are one curious baby nowadays -whether it's wanting to know what Mamma and Dadee keep in that kitchen cabinet that we never let you play in or what will happen if you turn your cup upside down. Always wanting to learn something new.  Once you master something you quickly move on to the next thing.  I love watching you learn things, I love teaching you things; I'm getting ready for the "why" stage already because I know when it hits I am going to be answering a ton of questions ALL day.  Google will be my best friend during that time.

I look at you and you are so small but sometimes you act so big.... I watched you the other day trying to put your shoes on, you knew that they needed to be on your feet but you couldn't get them to stay on (this ended in frustration and in tears - we will work on that).  Seriously should you already know that your shoes go on your feet?!?!  You haven't mastered this skill yet but I do keep a pair of shoes in the living for you to practice; mostly because when you do get  one of your shoes on you look at me with the most amazing face - its your "do you see how awesome I am face" and it brings joy to my heart.

Happy 11 months Sweet Scarlett

Remember I love you. Always

Mamma

Hiking with my Loves

Felix got Scarlett this awesome new hiking backpack - she wasn't too excited about when we were at REI but she LOVED it on our Hike yesterday.  She "talked" Felix's ear off yesterday; not even joking we hiked for about 2 hours and she talked THE WHOLE TIME.

The hiking trail took you behind a waterfall- pretty cool.

And we saw this cute little guy!
Felix let Scarlett get out about half way through the hike to let her walk around, Have I  mentioned how much I love watching these two together.

Come on Da-Dee, Let me show you something

Scarlett - 11 Months

Age:  11 Months - WHY DOES IT HAVE TO GO SO FAST!!
Stats: total guess but our scale in the bathroom says she weighs 18.8lbs, I have no idea how tall she is
Clothes: 12 months or 12-18 months depending on where I get her stuff.  I got the cutest summer stuff for her from baby gap and old navy!
Favorite Foods: well pretty much everything, I did introduce her to lima beans (one of my favorites) and she didn't enjoy them as much as I thought she would.
Things she says: Mamma, Da-De and No - funny story about the word No, when she is doing something that I would rather her not (like pulling all the wipes out of the container) she says no-o-o while she does it.  we are working on the meaning still.
Activities: Swimming - she does the cutest dog paddle in the water
Favorite Things: That would have to be these two stuffed puppies - they were actually mine my Ganna and Papa gave them to me and while I was unpacking Scarlett got a hold of them and hasn't let them out of her sight since.  One is a boy (Spike) and one is a girl (Lily)- they have names written on their paws. She sleeps with Spike and Lily stays downstairs and "watches" her play; every once in awhile she will walk over to her and love on her.

1st Birthday Planning

Scarlett's first birthday is fast approaching which brings bitter sweet feelings.... I cannot believe she is going to be a year old.  She has grown way to fast and I ask her everyday if she can just stay little for a little while longer.  Planning her birthday party has kept me busy for the last couple days - to taking her pictures for the invite (that my awesome sister is making), gathering pictures for her banner, and making sure I have all the little details figured out.  Thought I would post a few pictures from her little mini session we had in the backyard (the picture going on her invite however will not be posted).

Sunny days and Passion Tea Lemonade

Sunshine, Passion Tea Lemonade, Shorts and Gold Jellies.... Livin the life out here! I cannot believe that my sweet baby is old enough to drink out of a straw!

Dirt Eater

Yesterday the sun was shining and the air was warm so we headed outside.  I wanted to see how big our little garden was and how much we could actually plant in it this year.  With my cute little helper in tow we figured it out. We had to learn one lesson first - that dirt doesn't really taste as good as it looks.

Once we got that out of our system, we got to dig around and get dirt everywhere, and plan our garden so now we just to narrow it down on what we actually want and go get the stuff.
