Busy girl. Tired Mama.

This girl right here is full of energy, full of life, full of curiosity, and full of joy. She has been keeping this mama VERY busy.

Scarlett - 12 months

This is a little behind but right after our trip back home Scarlett got an awful stomach bug that lasted four days :(. Poor girl! and to top it off she has gotten 5 teeth. I haven't even taken her 1 year pictures (I attempted see picture above but this was the day she started not feeling well and the picture isn't even that great) - look for those hopefully this week.  Here are her 12 months Stats, likes, dislikes and favs

Age:  12 Months

Stats: 19lbs and 1 oz and she is 28 inches tall - tiny but completely healthy and 100% perfection.

Clothes: 12 months or 12-18 months and surprisingly some 18 month stuff. I'm loving little rompers on her - so much that I just might get her a few more for the summer. Also, dresses nothing beats a sweet little dress on her for Church on Sunday morning.

Favorite Foods: anything and everything. The Dr. was really impressed with her eating habits and of course her love for green smoothies.  If I had to choose a favorite food it probably would be pears although she loved carrot juice - she really does just like it all.  I am still nursing her, my plan is to let her self wean but it doesn't look like that is going to happen anytime soon.  I think if she hasn't weaned herself by 18 months I'll push it a little harder.

Things she says: Mamma, Da-De, No, Pup pup (Puppy) and Fish.  she also will SHHHH you. She mimics a lot of words but doesn't really know the meaning so I am not counting them as "words" just yet.  

Activities: Walking/Running, feeding her baby, tea parties, and taking her pup pup on walks. She also loves being outside and just exploring new places.  

Favorite Things:  She is really into books right now, animals  and over all just getting every toy she owns out.  She also has started throwing things away, its nice when it's a diaper but lately I have been finding toys and the t.v. remote in the trash - I need to teach her the difference between trash and not trash.

My Favorite thing she does: She just started blowing kisses and it might be the sweetest thing EVER and of course when she holds onto my finger fastest way to melt my heart.

Daddy's Favorite thing she does: laugh - he loves her sweet little laugh.

Letters to Sweet Scarlett

Hey Sweet Girl, you are now a year old!!! Crazy how fast this past year went I swear just yesterday you were this small  now you run around like a toddler. This Mamma thing is hard work - how can one at the same time ache for the past, be excited for the present but cannot wait for the future and all that it entails. It makes my heart hurt that's for sure.   This is not a typical letter that I have written you - I am not going to give life lessons or inspiring words of wisdom.  I just simply want to say that I feel beyond blessed to call  you my daughter and that I love you a little more everyday.

Albuquerque Zoo

For Scarlett's actual birthday we took her to the Albuquerque Zoo, She loved all the Animals and of course the picnic lunch. She is all about Animals these days - we spend hours reading books about animals and making animal sounds - so the zoo we a perfect way to spend my sweet girls first birthday.  My mom and sister got to come too which made the day even better! below are a TON of pictures of our family Zoo day

Scarlett's First Birthday Party

The timing was perfect this year; Mother's day, Scarlett's first birthday and my Little Brothers Graduation.... So we flew back home to celebrate all three!!

I kept Scarlett's First Birthday pretty simple since I had to plan it from thousands of miles away (thanks to my mom and sister for helping me gather stuff and make the food ).  I went with a pink lemonade theme - it turned out super cute.  I didn't get the greatest pictures of the decorations (hoping Grandma Carroll got some good ones she can send to me), but here are a few of the ones I did get.  I think my favorite decoration was the monthly picture banner.... Scarlett doesn't even look like the same baby anymore.

 Scarlett's first birthday cake was pink lemonade flavored and pretty much had 2 inches of frosting on it.... Although she didn't make the huge mess I was hoping for.

 She loved the cake and cried when we took it away from her. Overall the party was a success and We want to say Thank you to everyone who came and helped us celebrate this sweet girls birthday!
